On March 8th, 2024, Collingwood's Historic Downtown welcomed a new business: Craig's Cookies! Craig's Cookies is a Canadian-owned business founded in 2013 by Craig Pike in St. John's, Newfoundland. Since then, Craig's Cookies has expanded to Niagara on the Lake and the GTA, where it hosts 5 locations! Collingwood, Ontario is a flourishing hive of small, Canadian businesses that both locals and tourists love. Craig's is a perfect fit in the Downtown core and we at Property Valet can't recommend their delicious eats enough!
Craig's Cookies has over 100 signature flavours, and the new Collingwood location rotates these out daily! One thing about Craig's that makes it different than other cookie shops, is that every cookie is baked fresh daily! Let me tell you... the moment you walk in, your nose will confirm this! It smells so delicious in the store that it's hard not to buy a whole dozen on the spot!
Personally, I've been in to Craig's a few times now and here are some unique flavours that have stood out to me:
- Fuzzy Peach
- Butter Tart
- Mini Eggs
- Cadbury Creme Egg
- Cherry Blaster
- Carrot Cake
On this particular day, I opted for a Mini Eggs cookie in the spirit of the Easter Weekend. The cookie was freshly baked, still warm even, and was loaded with pieces of Mini Eggs and chocolate chips! The employees told me that the Mini Eggs cookies are one of their top sellers right now, and they're baking many batches a day!
As for the taste, this cookie was soft, chewy, and deliciously sweet! One thing I really enjoy is that the dough itself is not overly sweet, which leaves room for the sweetness of the chocolate. I'm sure that goes for the over flavours, too! So, if you're not a big fan of overly sweet things, Craig's Cookies are still a great treat option. All in all, I'd rate my cookie experience a 10/10, and the rest of our team will agree: Craig's Cookies Collingwood is a must try when you stay in our vacation rentals!
