This week, we went for drinks and appetizer's at one of Collingwood's favourite cocktail bars, Low Down. This vibrant yet small and intimate venue is great for smaller groups looking to try creative dishes and drinks.
Low Down opens at 4pm on weekdays and Saturdays for quick bites or a bar experience. We opted for a snack, so we chose to sit at a table rather than the bar. We were immediately welcomed with smiling faces and groovy decor, with bright colours on every wall.
Each month, Low Down features a specialty cocktail on the menu, and a portion from every drink sold goes to the charity or organization of the month. This month (January), their special is the "Blue Velvet" - earl grey infused cachaça, lemon, spiced blueberry syrup, vegan foaming bitters, and oat milk. It was delicious! We also ordered one of their classic cocktails, the Boarding Pass.

We also ordered some snacks alongside our cocktails, but it was certainly hard to decide with all of their mouth watering choices! We ended up choosing their veggie spring rolls, and toasted cauliflower salad. Both were presented so beautifully, we didn't even want to ruin them by eating!
After taking way too many photos of our food, we eventually dug in and it was delicious! Everything tasted fresh and all of the ingredients feel thoughtfully selected to compliment each other well. All in all, we had a 10/10 experience at Low Down, even on a Winter weekday. The environment is so warm and welcoming, it makes you forget how chilly it is outside!
In the summertime, Low Down offers patio seating complete with a photo mural wall, so you can fully unleash your inner model! Rain or shine, warm or cold, Low Down has all the right vibes for a good night out in Downtown Collingwood.
