If you're looking for a classic, filling, and delicious lunch spot in Collingwood's bustling Downtown, look no further than Brightside Deli. Located at 75 Hurontario St., Brightside Deli opened their doors for the first time on Tuesday, November 21st - a highly anticipated day for Collingwood locals!
As residents of Hurontario St. ourselves, we decided to walk over on opening day and check out this new vibrant and wholesome eatery. When you walk in, it's bright and modern, yet there's something nostalgic about the whole experience too. The vibe of the place is very approachable and warm. We especially appreciated the handwritten chalkboard menu on display behind the counters - a small touch that makes a big difference!
Now, on to the part I'm sure you're waiting for... how does the food taste?
We ordered a Classic Carver Roast Beef sandwich, and a Brightside Big Bite with Montreal Smoked Meat. As the one who ate the Classic Carver, the flavours are delicious! Brightside isn't afraid to really pile the ingredients on your sandwich - you really CAN taste the love! Plus, the pickled red onions on top were a mouthwatering addition... yum!
Each sandwich comes with a side bag of kettle chips, pickle spear, and optional drink. Or, they also offer side salads and soups if that's more of your thing. After you enjoy your sandwich in house or order it to go, you'll most definitely want to order one of their delicious pastries. There were too many delectable options to remember, but I certainly remember seeing cheesecakes, butter tarts, and even blondies!
